File #: A2029BD Service Manager - Oil & Gas Industry Calgary |
![]() |
Answer is: Flathead, Robertson, Phillips, Chuck, Monkey... Question is: What the first names of our Service Manager's children are? (Four are males, one is a little wrench!) |
Actually, the first names could be more like Glued to Ear (as in telephone), Mister Problem Solver, Thick Skinned, Butt Kicker, We'll Be There Shortly, Let Me Get On It, It'll Be Up And Running Better Than New, Jack of All Trades, Sleep - What Sleep?....You get the idea! You're living the Service Manager life right now in the Oil & Gas business or in a mechanically-oriented commercial environment. You're loving every minute of it... but...you'd rather love it at another company! Maybe we should talk... Our client is a well respected Western Canadian technical leader (who, by the way, is far less colourful in their position descriptions than we are) in the custom manufacture and supply of solutions for gas compression, refrigeration and process systems, primarily in the oil and gas industry. They would like to add a strong technical and savvy people-managing individual to their growing team. That could be you! Apply in confidence below. |
RESPONSIBILITIES:When you apply we'll be
looking for your ability, experiences and successes in the oil and
gas business supporting and managing service relationships not only
internally (with your direct reports - about 20 mechanics, admin., etc. at
our client) but also with tough customers. You'll be
able to demonstrate
your expertise at sizing up technical solutions and assist with putting together
custom service quotations/proposals for accounts in Western
Canada. You'll demonstrate your ability to source suitable components for incorporation
in to systems;
scheduling
meetings
and marshalling internal resources to support sales in contract negotiations
as well as the delivery of timely information to satisfy customer concerns.
Above all, you'll be able to demonstrate how you earned a reputation
for being a good manager - tough but fair. An excellent technical resource
to your employees. You'll show how you built or maintained a structure
of command and control that let your people get their jobs done with
minimal interference
while you had a tight handle on client service concerns, administrative
issues,
costs,
career
development, billable hours, etc.
