| Our client is a well established and nimble enterprise manufacturing, retrofitting and successfully renting equipment to the oilfield drilling fluids and industrial waste water treatment markets. They need you to bring your sales and marketing expertise, management skills and industry relationships to manage their current accounts and propel the firm to "supplier of choice" status among Alberta clients. You will be based in beautiful downtown Calgary but your efforts could take you across the province.

Reporting directly to the President the successful professional will have overall responsibility for ensuring all company equipment is placed and fully rented out and that company's reputation for service and integrity are upheld and expanded upon.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interface with current accounts ensuring "top of mind awareness" - whether it be in Calgary oil firm head offices or out in the field - we call it "bring 'em the chicken!"
- Analysis of markets, trends and competition relaying information and sales plans to President - whether you learn in the office or on the golf course, it will get you a leg up on the competition
- Execute sales plans - ensuring all equipment is rented out - when the plant is empty your bonus gets bigger
- Cold call potential customers - you're assertive not aggressive - "bring the doughnuts!"
- Assist in developing marketing materials and website
- Ensure equipmental rental specifications and capabilities are accurately portrayed to customers
- Ensure rental agreements entered in to are profitable for both company and customer alike
- Coordinate with the plant the return of all equipment issues and customer quality issues you will be responsible for
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Responsible for achieving business goals (revenues and profits) - we work on a simple model - if you see fully functional equipment in the plant, you need to get it rented out. The sooner and the longer it is rented out, the more happy your bank account will be at year's end.
- Responsible for helping create and coordinate advertising and promotional programs (literature, demos, and price sheets)
- Responsible for yourself - supported by a remote plant. Your days are flexible, your effort is continuous. When you're not bringing the chicken out to the field, doughnuts to the office, golfing for information or having breakfast with that new client or trolling for new business - you're learning everything you can about your company, your clients' needs and your competitors - in short you're building your knowledge and the business. Rest is just another four letter word you're more apt to use in the following sentence: "We got some of them, now we're going to get the rest of them!"
- Responsible for communicating daily and weekly with head office both in verbal and written format - as our client is relatively small, open and direct communication is one of its hallmarks - no management layers to wade through.
- Requires constructive and solid judgments
- Performs analysis of price data on: end-users, competitors and project pricing levels
INTERACTION:
- Primary contact is with the President, Service department and Sales administration
- Contact with customers mainly in Southern Alberta but could go north as far Grande Prairie.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of drilling rigs, drilling fluids, mud cleaning with solids controls and centrifuge applications
- Knowledge of selling principles and methods, project tracking system and project booking successes
- Knowledge of oilfield rental agreements
- Knowledge of prospective customers, perhaps already renting oilfield equipment of some type to major oil and gas firms in Alberta
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 to 5+ years experience in marketing and sales encompassing sales to the drilling industry, preferably with an understanding of the rental market.
- You're last or current position has the word "Sales" or "Account" in the position title.
- Supreme relationship builder.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented.
- Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed professional sales and self-management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to work effectively in a small, entrepreneurial environment.
- Have good oral and written communication and PC computer skills.
- Able to travel to field locations and offices throughout Alberta when necessary.
- Take charge attitude.
